Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers
Lectors Mission Statement:
As Lectors of OLOG Parish we will proclaim the Word of the Lord by being prepared to deliver it with conviction and excitement. We will accomplish this through a loving knowledge of Scripture and prayer for enlightenment so as to be clearly understood thus enhancing the spiritual growth of the parishioners who receive the Word into their hearts and act on it in their lives.

Lectors
Lectors are volunteers who consider it a privilege to share in the Liturgy in a very special way, by proclaiming the Word of God at weekday/weekend Masses and other Holy Days of Obligation.. Special skills are not required, but the individual must have good reading skills and a willingness to properly prepare for assignments.
Age is not a factor, but normally is around 13 years of age and up. Younger children may become lectors after being approved by the Pastor.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
While ordained men are the “ordinary” (usual) ministers of the Holy Eucharist, lay people are “extraordinary” (supplemental) ministers of Holy Communion. These individuals may help distribute Holy Communion and the Precious Blood during Mass and other Holy Days of Obligation.
Any men or women, age 18 and older, who have been confirmed and are in good standing with the church may apply to the Pastor to become ministers.
